Winter Jackets with Coffee Sleeves

So I couldn't help but notice how different our school projects have been lately. They have primarily been linked to marketing campaigns and product packaging. The latest project for Interpretive class was to redesign a coffee cup sleeve for an upscale coffee joint in Pearson Airport's Terminal One. Guidelines:
  1. No images of planes, coffee beans, coffee mugs or aroma lines
  2. Company name can be either "Blue Sky", "Red Eye" or "Jet Fuel"
  3. Sleeves must be on a white Grande sized Starbucks cup
I began by thinking of alternate ways of flying. This led to magic carpet ride, which led to indo-asian influence, which eventually led to my Indian textile carpet style sleeve. All the chopped up images are relevant to Indian culture. If you look closely their is a tiger, lotus flower, Buddha, archways, henna, etc. I decided to make a series and try a few different things like multiple papers, sleeve placement, and even cup colour (even though we were told to use a white cup only). Overall I am pretty satisfied with the sleeves. They seem really fun to me. Like a quilt! And if you haven't figured it out by now, I chose "Red Eye". I used it in more of a metaphorical sense as a sun-like object. Ties into the whole Indian theme. Plus I'm sure a flight to India would be a Red Eye flight or vice versa.
